Fom Coat Recipes


All of these recipes may be adjusted to suit your needs. All can be thinned with water, or by adjusting the proportion of paint and glue to caulk and joint compound.
They can by thickened by addin joint compound, plaster, fillers, or textures.

Recipe #1  -  somewhat sandable
3 qts flat latex paint
3 - 5 tubes acrylic latex painters caulk
1 cup Joint compound

Recipe #2  -  sandable – non flexible
1 gallon latex paint
1 cup Joint compound
1/2 cup water putty

Recipe #3  - somewhat sandable,
1 quart of latex paint
4 tubes of Latex caulk
2 cups of drywall mud

Recipe #4  -  ultra flexible, expensive
1 cup Jaxsan
1 cup latex paint

Recipe #5  -  cheap
1 cup glue
1 cup latex paint
1 cup Joint compound (wet or dry)

Recipe #6  - highly textural
1 cup glue
1 cup paint
1/2 cup – 2 cups texture




Textural Fillers:
·      Rough Sawdust 
·      Smooth sawdust
·      Wood shavings
·      Sand
·      Foam dust
·      Paper scraps
·      Paper dust
·      Shredded Paper
·      Concrete dust
·      Beads
·      Fabric
·      Pebbles
·      Scrub Pads
·      Sponge bits
·      String/twine
·      Or any combination of them.
